X9240

Radio Ethernet

X9240 WiFi MODBUS TCP/IP Radio Ethernet Modem

Radio Ethernet X9240 Modems enable access to any serial equipment from Windows, Unix & Linux computers connected to your wireless TCP/IP network.

The X9240 Radio Ethernet Modem also enables communication between two distant serial equipments through a network, or directly with a peer to peer connection (AD-Hoc mode). The X9240 even allows you to build a wireless serial MODBUS to MODBUS/TCP gateway

Overview

Warwick Wireless wireless modems provide a quick and easy way of connecting RS232, RS422 and RS485 serial data networks without wires. Ideal for portable equipment or equipment in locations where cabling is not practical.

Depending on the frequency, RF power, height and type of antenna and the topology of the location, ranges of up to 20Km can be achieved using a 500mW Transmitter. Each wireless modem can be configured as a Repeater thereby extending radio range. If a greater range is required, either high gain Yagi Antenna or 5W, X8200HP can be used. Both these options will generally require consultation with the regulating Authorities.

For a given RF power, the wireless modem range decreases by one upon the square of the frequency. If the frequency doubles then the range is decreased by one quarter. Hence the propagation at 2.4 GHz will be 50 times less than at 400MHz.
