X8140 GSM Telemetry Module

The X8140 is a universal module for remote control and monitoring. It allows information transmission of eight logical inputs and eight logical outputs using
the SMS service of a GSM network.

SMS messages can be received and transmitted by any device in the GSM network (e.g. cellular phones, controlling computer with GSM modem) and an X8140 device can also be controlled from Internet using SMS gateways.

The function of inputs, access phone numbers and passwords are fully user-adjustable using PC software included with the module.

Overview

The Warwick Wireless XNET products provide a cost effective and flexible means of transmitting analogue, digital and pulse counter data over large areas without the expense of laying cables. A programmable modular approach allows the user to configure the exact combination of IO for a specific application. A system can be as simple as a one way link or as complex as a multi-drop network.

An XNET Network consists of two or more X8100 transceivers. Each transceiver is programmed by the user with a node number. Node 0 becomes the network manager. Each node can have up to 128 analogue and digital inputs and outputs. The data can be reproduced as physical quantities at any node or sent via the serial gateway directly to a PLC or SCADA system.
